Time & Attendance Policy

To help our fellow teammates and to help patients, it is very important to show up and arrive early for shifts.

We have two separate point systems: one method to track tardies and one method to track absences.

Tardies

The shift start time is 7:20am for normal shifts. You can clock in up to 10 minutes before a scheduled shift.

Tardy Points reset to zero (0) at the start of each calendar month.

1-10 minutes late = 1 point (7:21am – 7:30am for normal shifts)

11-30 minutes late = 3 points (7:31am-7:50am for normal shifts)

31-120 minutes late = 10 points (7:51 am-9:20am for normal shifts)

Missed Clock in/out = 1 point (Video will be checked to confirm time)

Consequences:

15 points --> Verbal Warning

25 points --> Written Warning

35 points --> Performance Improvement Plan

45 points --> Termination

Absences

The goal has always been to work your shift or find coverage.

First, if you use accrued Paid Sick Leave hours to cover your shift, then no documentation is required. If you’re missing a 10-hour shift, then submit 10 hours of Paid Sick leave.

Second, if you don’t have any remaining Paid Sick Leave, then you can submit any of the following three (3) types of documentation: (a) Funeral Note, (b) Police Report, or (c) Hospital or ER Note (A normal Doctor’s note does not count. That is covered with Paid Sick Leave)

Attendance Points are a rolling 12-month count of any absence(s) when you don’t use accrued Paid Sick Leave or don’t submit a Funeral Note, Police Report, or Hospital/ER note as documentation:

1st Missed Shift --> Waived

2nd Missed Shift --> Written Warning

3rd Missed Shift --> Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)

4th Missed Shift --> Termination

Rewards for Great Attendance

If you work 10 or more shifts in a month, have zero (0) absences, and finish the month with zero (0) tardy points, you earn $50.00 that month. If you do that for 12 months, that’s an extra $600.00 a year.

If you work 10 or more shifts in a month, have zero (0) absences, and finish the month with 1, 2, or 3 tardy points, you earn $25.00 that month. If you do that for 12 months, that’s an extra $300.00 a year.
